Needlepoint Laces

Point d'Alencon, 19th Century (French)

Point de Venise

Burano Lace, 19th century Italy

Here are three incredible examples of needlepoint lace. As the name clarifies, these laces are made with a needle, usually stitched on top of a pillow-like ground until the piece is finished and then detatched.

Katie!!! YAY!!! I'm so glad we found each other. :) What a great surprise to find your comment today. :) So sorry to hear about your friend in the ER. I haven't posted anything "angry" like that before, but I just had to vent it out. Keep in touch - your family is darling!
