Natural History Museum

This was a really really bad week for me so my dear husband took me on a date to look over some of my favorite things: Native American artifacts and rocks! We went to the the Natural History Museum at the U of U to see what is on display. I was impressed by the number of basket items. I was disappointed by the lack of fetishes, or carvings, though not surprised (this not being Zuni territory, though many pueblos had fetishes). For all of those who need a little luck, try carrying around a Zuni rock and see if its "powers" help you out. The carving only becomes a fetish if you believe in its powers - oh, and it has to have been blessed by a Zuni priest. I just really enjoy rocks!!
Zuni carvings of the six directions:
THESES "FETISHES" WILL BRING YOU PROTECTION AND HEALING
I've also included their non directional-set "power"

YELLOW MOUNTIAN LION OF THE NORTH:
GUIDES YOUR PATH, PROTECTOR OF JOURNEY
POWER AND ENERGY, LEADERSHIP
BLUE BEAR OF THE WEST:
HEALING AND STRENGTH

RED BADGER OF THE SOUTH:
HEALING, ESP. WITH ROOTS AND HERBS
PERSERVERANCE, ABILITY TO REACH DESIRED GOAL

WHITE WOLF OF THE EAST:
STRONG HUNTING POWERS
TEACHER AND PATHFINDER

BLACK MOLE OF THE UNDERGROUND:
PROTECTION OF YOUR CROPS

MULTI EAGLE OF ABOVE:
CONNECTION WITH DIVINE, CREATIVITY
